Mr. Alan Delaney Jr.

Alan was born December 31, 1948, to Bertha and Alan Dulaney, II. Alan was affectionately known by many names; including Man, Sockem, Do Blow, Soft Soul, and many others!!  Alan was a jack of all trades. He had a love for life and never met a stranger. Doing his working years, Alan was employed by the State of Mississippi, Anderson Telly in Vicksburg, Mississippi and was self-employed in many capacities. If you needed backhoe work, he was your man. If you needed a lake dug, you could call him. When we think of a Jack of all trades, Alan was the man.

Alan was baptized at an early aged, but his faith walk was strengthened in his later years. He became a deacon at Saint Paul, and this was a calling he took very serious. Alan was a mentor to many boys and young men in and around Edwards, Mississippi. You could tell nearly anybody that you were from Edwards, and they knew Alan. Alan's pass time passion was playing Dominos, Spades, and shooting pool. Alan was very active in his church and community even after he had his first leg amputated. Only after having his second leg amputated did his ability to continue those activities change drastically. Alan had a strong passion and love for his family and friends. Alan was married to Annie Jean
Carter, who was not only his wife but his care giver and best friend. Alan was called to his Heavenly home on November 26, 2024, during his sleep.

To cherish his memories, Alan leaves: a loving wife, Annie Carter Dulaney; seven children, Katina Lewis, Allen Markee Dulaney, Letitia Hayes, Jessica Nelson, Terrance Williams, Michelle (Anthyone) Carter and Alan Dulaney, IV; twelve sibling, Q C Kelker, Cleophus White, Sr., Bertha Jackson, L C Dulaney, Dottie Cavett, Alma (Franklin) Turner, Cee Cee Spann, Ethelene Haywood, Ernestine Bracy, Corean Dulaney, Lydia (Thomas) Haynes and Alice Sampson; fifteen grand-children; twelve great grand- children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
