Amos Richardson was born on February 10, 1934, in Edwards, Mississippi to the late Easter and RC Richardson. On July 12, 1955, he married the love of his life, Ernestine Hilton Richardson. To this union, five children, four sons and one daughter, were born.

Amos accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Superintendent of Sunday School for over 30 years. He later became a member of United Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his health failed.

Amos enjoyed agriculture and being outdoors. You could often find him farming animals, growing a garden, or taking meticulous care of his yar. He was a lifelong resident of Edwards and was active in his community, providing mentorship to many young people throughout the years and spreading the Word of God to anyone who would listen.  Amos infectious smile, warm greetings and familiar saying such as " Oh Shucky Now" will be dearly missed.

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, he departed his earthly life to head to his permanent heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ernestine, one daughter Martha Jean, two sons, Calvin and Michael, his parent RC and Easter, four sister Maxine Graham, Susie Richardson, Mary F. Thomas, and Anna Lee Jones, and one brother, Lee Charles Richardson.

He will forever be remembered in the hearts of his two sons: Benard (Nellie) Richardson, Amos (Tina) Richardson Jr., a very special niece, who was like a daughter, Shelia Williams; one brother, Joe Nathan (Rosie Lee) Richardson; two sisters; Emmit L. Hail. and Celestine Washington; five granddaughter: Tiffany (Deshawn) Daniels, LaVonche Williams, Tiara Robinson, Ronnisha (Nathaniel) Thurman, and Brittany Richardson; four grandsons:  Adrian Richardson, Brandon (Ashlee) Richardson, Malik Richardson, and Keenen Williams; two-great granddaughter: Natalie and Parker; two great- grandson: Wesley and Legend. Also left with precious memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
