Mrs. Amy Frelix

Amy Sue was the fourth child of Rafe and Exie Lee Robinson. She grew up at Route 1 Box 11, Clinton, Mississippi. Throughout her life she lived by this scripture: Luke 6:31 NIB "What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you." She lived by this motto in high school, college and all of her life. Amy was a child of great wisdom and knowledge. She began to play the piano at an early age. She was the pianist for Mt. Hood Jr. Choir, Holy Ghost and Young Isreal Jr. Choir in Clinton and Bolton, Mississippi. She finished at Sumner Hill High in Clinton, Mississippi, and became the first of Rafe and Exie's children to attend college. She attended Campbell College in Jackson, Mississippi and Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, graduating in 1967 with a B.S. Degree in Business Education. Amy continued her education by enrolling in the University of Illinois and receiving her Masters Degree in Health Care Administration. After moving back to Mississippi, she met and married Carl Frelix of Columbia, Mississippi. While she was working at Prentiss Community College in Prentiss, Mississippi. She also enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and received a Specialist Degree in Education. Amy's marriage to Carl granted her two step children, (Carl, III and Sandra Frelix). They moved to California for a period of time where She enrolled in the University of Phoenix and received her PHD degree in Business and Vocational Education. Her many jobs included working in the register's office at Mississippi Valley State University; teaching in Ellisville, Mississippi and at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi; the Treasurer's office of the State of Illinois;
developing an adult GED program through Hinds Community College in Clinton, Mississippi; and teaching at Hinds Community College in Jackson, Mississippi.


Amy is preceded in death by her parents, Rafe Robinson and Exie Robinson; her husband, Carl Frelix, Jr.; one brother, Tony Russell; one sister, Annie Bee; stepson, Carl Frelix, III; and stepdaughter, Sandra Frelix. Amy Sue will be forever loved and missed by: her grandsons, Carl Frelix, IV, of Delaware and Marcus Felix of Memphis, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren; special nieces, Exie Williams, Miranda Pastors, Reganda Russell, Jasamine Guston and nephew, Justin Guston; sisters, Gladys Griffith, Virginia Thompson, Clotie Graves and Edith Guston, all of Clinton, Mississippi; a special brother, Freddie Robinson of Jackson, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
