Bertha J.
Fenderson
Nov 12, 1951 — Jul 19, 2024
Ms. Bertha J. Fenderson
Bertha J. Fenderson was born on November12,1951 to Beatrice J. Bell in Jackson, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age. "Bert" was full of life. She loved riding motorcycles and attending races and outings. Being full of life and love, she enjoyed spreading that joy with family and friends.
Bert was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. While enjoying life, Bert lost her battle to cancer, causing her to transition into Heaven on July 19, 2024, peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Preceding her in death is her mother, Beatrice J. Bell; husband, Joe Fenderson; son, Willie E. Johnson; brother, Willie Kent Jr.; 2 sisters, Mary "Louise" Wynn and Lillian Linsey. Also, a special nephew she loved, John M. McCool Jr.
Bert leaves to cherish her memories, 2 sons, Meshard T. Johnson of Collins, MS, and Eddie D. Fenderson (Tara) of Jackson, MS; 2 daughters, Shonika M. Hoggie (Toya) of JAckson, MS; and Maxine Gaines of Prentiss, MS. 1 sister, Tunia L. Carson of Brandon, MS; and a grand-daughter she raised as her own, Meshunna Cavitt of Jackson, MS. She leaves to cherish 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces, in which one she held so dear to her heart, Warwick Mikell, and a god-son she loved, Guy Nichols.
I Bert's eyes, everyone was family, and she never turned any one away from her love, laughter, card-playing and fellowshipping. She will be truly missed.
