Mrs. Bettie Lee Scott

Bettie Lee Scott was born on October 21, 1951, in Belzoni, MS to the late L.C. and Lillie May Tillman.

Bettie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Morning Star M.B. Church, Learned, MS and later moved her membership to New Oak Ridge, Edwards, MS.

Bettie attended public school in Belzoni, MS after which she attended Utica Jr. College and majored in welding and worked at LeTourneau in Vicksburg, MS. She also was a Plant Specialist at Cactus Plantation in Edwards, MS and was recognized as one of the top-tier specialists in conservation.

Bettie enjoyed fishing, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family as much as possible. She later moved to Bakersfield, CA and resided there over 15 years.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; L.C. Tillman and Lillie May Tillman; brothers; Jessie and Simpson Tillman, sons: Anthony and Craig Scott.

Bettie departed this life on Monday December 2, 2024, surrounded by loving family.

Bettie leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters: Janet Scott of Clinton, MS; Tonicia Scott of Byram, MS; Rena Scott of Vicksburg, MS; Lillie (Emmitt) Pollard of Edwards, MS; and Patricia (Lavonne) Martin of Bakersfield, CA. Three sons: Cassius Clay (Chavella) Tillman, Tyrone (Nickole) Scott, and August Scott all of Bakersfield, CA. Two sisters: Ola Mae Williams of Jackson, MS, and Lenora Elliott of Aurora, IL. 36 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, and friends.
