Ms. Carolyn Faye Mallet was born to Lula Bell Prewitt and Richard David Prewitt on June 8, 1941 in Rankin County, Mississippi. God saw that she was tired so He called her home on February 4, 2019 at 1:30 a.m.

Carolyn accepted Christ early in her life and united with Farish Hill Church in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. After moving to Jackson, Mississippi, she joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W.D. Carr. There she served as president of the Pastor's Aid. She later moved to Utica, Mississippi with her husband and there they became members of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the Usher Board. Later, she moved back to Jackson, Mississippi and joined Greater Northside Freewill Baptist Church with her late uncle, Vertis Kersh, where she served as a Trustee and president of the Usher Board. At the time of her demise she was a member of Jerusalem Gospel Mission Church where she served was a member of Jerusalem Gospel Mission Church where she served on the motherboard under the leadership of Reverend Ophelia Holmes.

Carolyn retired after serving 30 years in the Jackson Public School System as a Head Custodian.

Carolyn was loved, full of life and was always eager to teach anyone about the Lord. She fought a good fight, she finished her course and now she can rest in the promise of her heavenly reward.

She was preceded in death by: her mother and father, Lula Bell and R.D. Prewitt; two brothers, Elijah Prewitt and Richard Prewitt; and one niece, Debra Kaye Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sisters, Earline Ware and Barbara Magee, both of Jackson, Mississippi; one brother, John L. Prewitt of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sister-in-laws, Ida Bell Prewitt of Pelahatchie, Mississippi and Elanor Prewitt of Las Vegas, Nevada; one special nephew/godson, Micheal Prewitt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and multitude of friends.
