Obituary

Ms. Cassandra J. Brown

Cassandra J. Brown , 60, departed this life from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in Hinds County, Mississippi on February 22, 2024. she was born on January 24, 1964, in Brookhaven, Mississippi and was the daughter of Edith Argussie Buckley Brown, who preceded her death, and Leotha Brown, Sr. Throughout her childhood, Cassandra was very athletic, participating in various community softball leagues and becoming a member of the basketball team at Brookhaven High School. After graduating from Brookhaven High, she continued her educational studies at Alcorn State University.

Cassandra was a very hard worker and was loyal to Levis Strauss & Company for many years and received a ring to commemorate her outstanding service. Being the Fashionista that she was, she kept her four brothers nicely dressed in the latest Levi Styles along with other trendy fashions. The Brown Brother were surely recognized throughout the community and across college campuses as the " best dressed" gentlemen. Cassandra also was a loyal employee for Nissan for over 20 years. She later obtained her Commerical Driver's License and started her career as a truck driver with KLLM Trucking Company. She later drove for US Express, Venture Trucking, and Jackson Public Schools.

Cassandra's health began to decline in 2017 when she began to battle with illness resulting from an enlarged heart. After dealing with heart issues for several years, in 2023 she suffered with a stroke that led to Aphasia, limiting her communication. During this time, Cassandra' faith increased as he spent more and more time in prayer and in studying God's word with a local Bible Study Group.
