Obituary

Charles Burt Caston, Sr. was born on October 9, 1958, in Edwards, MS. He was the oldest of five children born to the late Emma Caston Smith and the late Charles Burt Smith. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Kingsley Chapel United Methodist Church. He attended Edwards attendance Center and continued his education at Hinds County Agricultural High School where he graduated in 1976. He continued his studies at Utica Junior College in Utica, MS.

Charles met his soul Marsha White and to this union two children were born: Charles Burt Caston, Jr. and Joydann' Caston. Charles was a dedicated husband and believed in providing for his family. He was a truck driver. He was employed at Kraft/ Alliant/ US Foods, and most recently was FedEx Ground until his failing health.

On Friday morning April 14, 2023, Charles Burt Caston was called to his forever home. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Caston Smith and Charles Smith; two sister, Thomasene Caston and Lillian Caston; one brother, Willie Carl Caston; one niece Kenisha Caston; three uncles, Robert "Jack" Smith, Kiney Grimes, and Walter Jordan; aunt, Maria Smith; and grandmother Emma Simith Hall.

Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving son, Charles Caston, Jr. of Grapevine, TX; a loving daughter Joydann' Caston of Canton, MS; one brother Emmett ( Carolyn) Caston of Jackson, MS; aunts, Mary Moss of Edwards, MS; Carrie Carroll of Jackson, MS; and Joyce (Clifton) Harris of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law Connette Caston of Clinton, MS ; Yolanda Y. Smith of Canton, MS; one brother-in -law Michael (Yolinda) White of Farmhaven, MS;  eleven ( nieces and nephews) Mayor LeKentric Caston, LaQuandra Caston, Domonika Caston, Lashundra Marshall, all of Edwards, MS; Cordell Caston and Jerrichos Moore of Clinton, MS; and Aviance Caston-Davis of Byram, MS;  La Marcus Smith of Gluckstadt, MS; Jon White of Houston, TX; Khalilah Smith, Richmond, TX; Michelle White, Wichita, KS;  and nineteen great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend Pamela Washington of Jackson, MS; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
