Ms. Cheryl Y. Brown
Cheryl Y. Brown , born on February 2, 1955, in Greenville, Mississippi was the eldest of Mickey and Hattie Brown. On November 3, 2023, she peacefully answered the Lord's call.
During her childhood, Cheryl was raised alongside her parents, grandparents, and twin brothers, Raymond and Ralph. She received her early education at Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Greenville High School in 1972. Later in life, she pursued higher education, earning her bachelor's degree from Belhaven College in August 2007. Cheryl's spiritual journey began at a young age when she embraced Christianity and became a member of the Catholic Church. During her seasoned years, she transitioned to the Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Danny Ray Hollins and remained a faithful member of Grace Inspirations Church until her passing.
Cheryl's professional journey was marked by dedication and service. She worked for South Central Bell, Bellsouth, and AT &T from December 8, 1975, until December 7, 2013. After her retirement from AT &T, she continued her career as a 911 dispatcher for the City of Jackson and later with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Mickey Brown, her brother, Ralph Brown, as well as nieces Demekia Cola and Danita Williams Ford, and her mother, Hattie Brown.
Cheryl is remembered with love and cherished by her children, Sanetria (Karriem) Moore of Madison, MS. and Michael (Monae) Brown of Trussville, Alabama, along with her surviving brother, Raymond (Katrina) Brown of Jackson, MS. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Dylan, Nigel, Devin, and Cameron, and her youngest, Sebastian. Her memory is treasured by nieces, nephews, cousins, her Apollo Hair Design Family, and a multitude of friends who were touched by her presence.
