Mr. Cleveland Farmer Jr.

On the morning of February 8, 2025, Cleveland's name was called to board that morning train adhering to God's voice calling him home. Cleveland had finished his journey here on earth and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Cleveland was the fifth oldest of eleven children, born on September 24, 1946, to Mr. Cleveland and Mrs. Annie Bell Farmer. He confessed Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age at Silver Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Raeford, North Carolina, under the leadership of Reverend Charles J. Cooper. While attending church as a child, he sang in the junior choir and served as an usher. He later graduated from Upchurch High School in 1965. While in high school he was a member of the GLEE Club where he sang Tenor. He also played football playing both end and wide receiver. Cleveland later relocated to Bronx, New York where he worked for Eagle Electric for several years. Living in New York led Cleveland to meet the love of his life, Possie Jones.

In April 1971, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Possie Jones. To this union, two children were born, Erica Wilson which proceeded him in death and Veronica Farmer Galloway. In 1974 he relocated to Mississippi where he worked for UPS while going to trade school and getting his Certified Trade in Plumbing. Upon his completion, he began working at Buford Plumbing Company in 1974 where he served as the Lead Plumber for
many years. Cleveland did many big commercial jobs where he gained much respect from all who came in contact with him. He spent many years training and mentoring other plumbers, which he loved. After working 42 years for Buford Plumbing, Cleveland retired in 2016 and spent time enjoying his family. He was known by many and very few called him Cleveland; his many nicknames were "June", "Bull Winkle", "Gator" (for his love for alligator shoes), and his dear wife called him "Leroy". Cleveland had a great love for his wife Possie who passed away September 25, 2022, after 51 years of marriage.  Cleveland's health began to decline, and he moved in with his daughter, Veronica, Jermaine, and Journee.
Cleveland was surrounded by love from family on a daily basis until God called him home. He was also blessed to have a God sent caregiver, Timothy Burns who he looked at like a son, and Cornelius Smith "Bo Pete," a special friend who always lent a helping hand. Cleveland was preceded in death by his loving wife, Possie Farmer, of 51 years; parents, Mr. Cleveland Farmer and Mrs. Annie Bell Farmer; daughter, Erica Wilson; granddaughter, Nevaeh Farmer; and three brothers, Linnie Farmer, Ivory Farmer, and Thomas Farmer.

He leaves behind many loved ones who celebrate his glorious transition to be with the Lord. The celebrates include his loving daughter, Mrs. Veronica Farmer-Galloway (Jermaine), grandchildren, Journee Nevaeh Galloway, Aurelia Ashante Wilson, and Fredrick Wilson; one great grandson Zilon Wilson; siblings, Lillie Worley, Helen Priester, Annie Leggett, Mattie Ross (Emmanuel), James Pope (Sarah), Willie Farmer (Rose), and Harvey Farmer (Arnell); his sisters in law, Shirley Williams and Roberta Corley; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.
