Darrol Tyrone Bass

Darrol Tyrone Bass was born July 29, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi to James E. Bass and Joyce M. Bass.

Darrol confessed Christ at an early age and joined Virden Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend L. L. Williams. Over the years he was an active member. Later Darrol joined the New Galilean Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Eric Napp.

Darrol was a graduate of Provine High School. He worked at Popeyes Chicken and United Air Lines for years. He was a very lovable man who loved fishing and sitting outside having conversations with his friends. He also loved to see his sister Shelia coming over so that they could argue ... it always made his day!

On August 16, 2024, at the University Heart Center, God called His beloved angel home. Darrol leaves cherished memories to: two sons, Darren Bass and LaDarius Bass; a loving mother, Joyce Bass; one sister, Shelia Bass; four nieces, Kandace Jones, KaMya Paten, Kameron James and Laken Townsend; two nephews, DeLars Smith, Jr. and DeAndrian James; two aunts, Shirley Catchings and Stella Ballansaw; two uncles, Clifford Catchings and Dennis Catchings; special cousins, Bobby and Rita Anderson; Peggy Willis; a very special friend Coretta Nettles; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Darrol's legacy of love, faith, and dedication lives on through his two sons, his family, and all who were fortunate to know him.
