David McGowan was born December 12, 1973 to Mr. Donald and Mrs. Ella M. McGowan in Utica, Mississippi.

David made his transition from this life to his eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Ukiah California. David was preceded in death by his father, Donald McGowan Sr. and his grandparents.

David rededicated his life to Christ after his father passed in 2011. It is better to die with the Lord, knowing that you have somewhere to rest your eternal soul. David fellow shipped under the leadership of Brother Chris Long in Flagstaff, Arizona.

David was married to Jennifer McGowan, and to this union. four children were born. David loved his family dearly. He loved his boys with all his heart, mind, body, and soul. He made extra efforts to spend quality time with his children.

David's personality was outstanding. He was very playful, always joking around and trying to make people laugh. He had a very pleasing attitude and was a joy to be around. He was forever lending a helping hand where needed, and never met a stranger.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, cooking, building and just living life. He was a true outdoors person. You name it and David would make it happen. He worked for Pinedeville Pomo Nation as Facilities Manager and was owner of McG's Family Fun Center in Ukiah, California where he resided.

David was educated in the Hinds County School District. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1992. He attended College at Ole Miss and was an outstanding football player for the Rebels at Ole Miss. He received numerous awards for his athletic skills, baseball, basketball and football.

David leave to celebrate his life legacy: his wife of 16 years, Jennifer McGowan; his children, David Earl, Jr., Elijah Lee, Jeremiah Xavier and Sebastian Abel McGowan of Ukiah, California; his mother, Ella McGowan; his brothers, Donald McGowan (Anastsia), Preston McGowan and Joshua McGowan (Qurita), all of Utica, Mississippi; one sister, Pamela Powell (Jermanie) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Layriashaun McGowan; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
