Ms. Jackson will be laid to rest Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Potter's House Fellowship Church, Jackson, MS.Her services will begin at 11:00 a.m.Committal will be at Autumn Woods Memorial Gardens, Jackson, MS.Visitation will be Friday, July 31, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (family present from 5:00 to 7:00)

Mrs. Debra Kay Prewitt Jackson was born to Earline Prewitt Ware on October 13, 1959 in Rankin County, Mississippi.She went home to be with God her Father on July 27, 2015.

Debra accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. Luther Baptist Church.She attended Jackson Public Schools.After graduating, she attended college and because of her love for children, she chose the career path of educator.She taught the 1 st grade at John Hopkins Elementary School.That love of educating blessed the lives of children at Greater Northside where she taught Sunday School, was the director of the Children's Choir, director of the Praise Dance Team and Dean of Vacation Bible School.

Debra love life, people, and teaching children, but most of all she loved God and cherished the resurrection of Christ and the knowledge that she will be living again in heaven forever.

Debra fought a good fight, she finished her course, and now she can rest in the promise of her heavenly reward.She was preceded in death by: her grandmother, Lula Bell Prewitt;grandfather, R. D Prewitt; two uncles, Elijah Prewitt and Richard C. Pepper Prewitt and one cousin Bobby Ray Prewitt.

She leavescherished memories to:her husband, (J. J.) Johnny Jackson; one son, Donavan Ray Rockyfeller Brown; mother, Earline Ware; two aunts, Carolyn Mallett and Barbara McGee; three sisters, Veronica (Jammie) Moore, Tracey (Anthony) Patrick and Bernadette (Pooh) Ware; two brothers, David (Jeanette) Ware and Micheal Prewitt, all of Jackson, Mississippi; best friends, Tina Meeks and Sandra Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
