Ms. Edna Marie (Boo) Tory

Ms. Edna Marie (Boo) Tory was born April 3, 1958, in Hinds County, Mississippi to the late Josephine Tory. Her father, Eugene Hill, Jr. preceded her in death. She was reared by her grandparents, Eliza and Frank Gibbs. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday morning at, the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

She confessed Christ at an early age at the Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. She was a faithful member until her health failed her. She was a member of the choir for several years. Edna always assisted wherever she was needed with the church. Her education began at Mixon Elementary School. She graduated from Utica High (Consolidated) School in 1977. She received a degree in Early Childhood and Development from Hinds Junior College (Utica Campus) in 1979 and furthered her education in Early Childhood Development at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi.

She held several jobs and retired from Hinds College (Raymond Campus). She loved meeting people, visiting with family and friends, shopping, yard sales, and spoiling her son, grandchildren, niece and nephews.

Edna was married to the late Reverend Charles Bolton of Raymond, Mississippi, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Tory. Edna is survived by: her son, Mario (Thomasina) Tory; two grandsons, Travis and Trever Tory; one sister; Rosie Barnes of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sister/cousins, Mary Tory and Verlene Tory-Redfield; sister-in-Law, Sylvia Lofton Tory; nieces and nephews, Samanda Tory, Aranda Tory, John Redfield, III, Nicolas Redfield, Denzel Tory and Chasity Nichole Caston who called her Tee Boo; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
