Eugene "Buster" Harrell, Sr. was born December 5, 1958 to the late Willie J.  Harrell, Sr. and Ivey Lee Swington Harrell in Liberty, Mississippi. He was called to rest on July 13, 2023. Eugene joined Liberty Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of William H. Tobias, where he was a member for a number of years. He sang in the church and school choirs. He loved to sing and do word search puzzles. He finished school at Central High in Liberty, Mississippi in 1976. He worked as a sky caption for the airlines in Texas and California, American Airlines and also as a caption mate for Tide Water Marines for a number of years. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Ivey Lee Swington Harrell; father, Willie J. Harrell, Sr.; grandparents, Mary Lee Barney and James Barney, Jake Harrell and Essie Floyd Harrell.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Eugene Harrell, Jr. of Harrisburg, Mississippi; two daughters, Natasha Harrell of Rayton, Ohio and Tenisha (Justin) Ellis of San Francisco, California; three sisters, Eddie Jean Barton and Ruby Ann Lewis of Jackson, Mississippi and Sharon (Carroll) Weathersby of Liberty, Mississippi; four brothers, Charles (Wanda Gail) Harrell, Calvin (Sandra) Harrell of Liberty, Mississippi, Timothy (Katherine) Harrell of Southaven, Mississippi and Willie Harrell, Jr. of Akron, Ohio; former spouse, Ava Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
