On the evening of September 17, 2022, Eva "Diane" Ervin went home at Chadwick Nursing Facility in Jackson, Mississippi. She
was 63 years young. She was the first born of three to Eva Ervin, (who she preceded in death), on August 2, 1959, at the University Hospital.
Growing up, Eva "Diane" Ervin had a heart of gold. Strength was her, and she never let anything she endured be the end of her story.

She loved children and took care of her nieces, smaller cousins, in-laws, whoever's children needed love. She always prayed for a baby with her life-long companion, Will Catching, (who preceded her in death). God answered her prayers, and on March 18, 1996, her first and only child, a daughter, Tashi Catchings, was welcomed into the world. Diane loved to laugh and smile. Telling jokes was something that she loved to do. Her personality would light up any room. There was nothing more that she loved than her family, Will, Tashi, her siblings, Vicki Jones and Craig Ervin,
her sisters-in-law, Rose Catchings and Lula Luckett and many nieces and nephews from both sides of her loving families.
