Obituary

Gladys was born August 17, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Willie Lane, Sr. and Delphine (Big Mama) Lane. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Pilgrim Rest Church in Edwards, Mississippi. Gladys worked for the Hinds County Public School District for many years.
Gladys's kindness and love for others was felt though her willingness to help however she could. She always made sure that everyone had a meal.

Her love was in her food, and she always opened her doors to anyone that needed a place to stay. Gladys was called home on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at her home in Jackson, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by: her father, the late Mr. Willie Lane, Sr.; her mother, Mrs. Delphine (Big Mama) Lane; two brothers, Bobbie Thompson and Morman Lane; and one sister, Sallie Lane.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one loving son, Jeffery Lane, Gainesville, Florida; two beautiful daughters, Charlotte McFarland, Jackson, Mississippi, and Stephanie McFarland, Pearl, Mississippi; two sisters, Ruth (Jerry) Wilson, Edwards, Mississippi and Annie (Mason) Carter, Campaign, Illinois; two brothers, Willie Lane, Jr. and James (Rosa) Lane, Bolton, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including two special friends, Lee Ella (Cookie) Coleman and Anna O'Banner, that were there to help and do whatever she needed until she transitioned.
