Horice was born May 14,1950 to the late Millie T. Palmer and Square Palmer Sr. of Edwards, Mississippi.
Horice confessed Christ in 1960 at an early age at Mount Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi.
Horice loved to travel. He was compassionate, friendly, a people person, enjoyed life and never met a stranger. He was a servant that worked very hard. He loved nature, especial the soil. He had a green thumb for gardening. Each year he will share the produce with family and friends. He loved farming, hunting, and fishing. Horice was freehearted. He will give you the shirt off his back. Hislife will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
Horice attended Edwards Junior High School, where he found the love ofbasketball. He attended Hinds Agricultural High School in Utica, Mississippi and took Building and Trade, and Brick Masonry as a career. He was employed at Central Industry Vicksburg, McHann Railroad Services, and in the maintenance department with Tyson Foods until he retired in March, 2015.
On October 28, 2023, in Jackson, Mississippi at the University Medical Center Hospital, Horice transitioned to his Heavenly Home to take his rest.
He is preceded in death by his parents Millie T. Palmer and Square Palmer Sr., one sister; Mary L. Palmer, two brothers; Ivory H. blue Sr., and PJ Palmer. Horice leaves to cherish his memories: A longtime friend Ledonia Mack of Edwards, Mississippi, one son, Horice Palmer Jr. of Edwards, Mississippi, two daughters, Tekelia Allen of Edwards, Mississippi, and Sametria Carter (Rodney) of Clinton, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Analeya Palmer, Arterriyun Palmer of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Brice Palmer, and Wynston Henderson of Bolton,
Mississippi, and Hailey Peoples of Edwards, Mississippi. Four brothers; Square Palmer Jr. (Belinda) of Bolton, Mississippi, John Palmer (Mamie) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Joe N. Palmer (Fern) of Elkhart, Indiana, Abbie K. Johnson (Leslie) of Edwards, Mississippi, two sisters; Betty A. Ramsey of Chicago, Illinois and Millie Palmer White of Longview, Texas and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
