Obituary

Jason D. Johnson, our dearly beloved brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2022. Jason was born
November 2, 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Jason resided in Jackson, Mississippi most of his
life, moving for a while to New Albany, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Johnson, his
father, Henry Bennett, Sr.; nephew, Robert Johnson; and uncle, William H. Johnson, Jr. Jason was an amazing person who did all he could for everyone.

Jason accepted Christ at an early age and enjoyed attending and participating in church activities. He joined House to House Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor, WC Horton. He remained a faithful and active member until he moved to New Albany, Indiana, where he joined Lifechangers Worship Center in Louisville, Kentucky under the leadership of Pastor Phillip L. McPheeters. He remained a loyal member until God called him home.

Jason enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved playing spades, especially with his extended Lexington Street Family. They excepted him into their foal as an adolescent and treated him as one of their own. He also enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters in the Crown Vic, boys and girls club of Jackson, Mississippi, Chapter 58. He will always be remembered as the life of the party. He loved to laugh, party and meet celebrities. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving stepmother, Frankie Bennett; his wife, Jenniffer Ward; his twin, Joshua Johnson
(Shalawandria), brothers, Henry Bennett, Jr. (Karen) and Justin Bennett; sisters, Keona Johnson-Grubbs, Marion Jones, Dorothy McLinnis (Joseph), Sharon McAllister, Shenika Griffin, and Courtney Buck; aunts, Marie Harris, and Aretha Jordan McField; uncles, Kenny Bennett (Evelyn), Chester Jordan (Annette), and Julius Jordan (Patricia); great uncle, Willie O. Lee, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
