Jerry Cornelius Williams was born October 26, 1959, to the late O'Neill and Dorothy Lee Williams in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the fourth of seven children. He was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and later reunited with what is now, United Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry attended Edwards Elementary and Jr. High School and then Hinds County AHS in Utica, Mississippi. During his high school years, Jerry was a member of the football team. Upon graduating from high school, Jerry attended Utica Jr. College. It was there that he learned the trade of welding.

During his lifetime, Jerry had many jobs, including, employment with Cal-Maine Foods in Edwards and Anderson Tully in Vicksburg. His real passion was welding and he was employed at Ingalls Shipyard and Mississippi Corp of Engineers. He was also known for his talent of laying tiles. He felt that there was nothing that he could not fix. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and tinkering with anything he got his hand on. His greatest passion was spending time with family, friends and those special buddies, (you know who
you are).

Jerry departed this life on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the home of his sister in Jackson, Mississippi. Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents, O'Neill and Dorothy Williams; his brother, Christopher Williams; grandparents, C.D. and Dora Smith and Eddie and Agustus Williams and step grandmother, Nannie Bell Williams. Jerry is survived by: three sisters, Betty Johns, Pearl, Mississippi, Onetta W. Samuel, Jackson, Mississippi,
and Bonita Williams, Jackson, Mississippi; two brothers, Derrick Williams (Debra), Jackson, Mississippi and O'Neill Williams, Jr., California. He will be truly missed by nieces and nephews, Doug, Sedrick, Trecie, Rod, Derricka, Diamond, Derrick, Christal, Christina and Zavia. He is also survived by: two aunts, Waudine Smothers of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Shirley Felker (Joseph) of Chicago, Illinois; four uncles, Rufus Williams (Margie), Edwards, Mississippi, Eddie Williams, Jr. (Martha) of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Howard Williams, Richmond, California and Willie James Smith (Mary) of Florida.
