Mr. Johnny L. Smith

Mr. Johnny Lee Smith was born November 16, 1939, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Henry and Mary Smith. He departed this life on October 19, 2024, at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram, MS. He was preceded by his parents, his daughter (Teresa Smith), two sisters (Annie Lee Williams and Margaret Hardy), and one brother (Horace Hubbard).

Johnny accepted Christ at an early age at Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated from Summer Hill High School and attended Utica Junior College. He was employed by Delta Mill Lumber Company for many years.

Johnny was married to Jean Dawson and together they had two children, Teresa Smith and Johnny Smith, Jr. He leaves to mourn: a son, Johnny Smith, Jr. (Cecilla), four grandchildren, Consuela Dixon (Chris), Johnny Smith, LaKeta Smith, and Joseph Smith (Erica), nine great-grandchildren. He leaves to cherish a loving sister, Bobbie Green; a host of caring nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
