Obituary

Mr. Lawrence Donnell Tyler

Lawrence Donnell Tyler's , fondly known as " Larry ", journey began on July 11, 1992, in Jackson, Mississippi. His life was a tapestry woven with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends and faith. Larry grew up surrounded by his family, he had 2 other siblings and lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles. Larry was influenced to be a loving and caring man, always giving his time to others, and he incorporated that into fatherhood. From the tender age Larry embraced faith with his family at Central Methodist in Jackson, MS to this renewed commitment to faith in May 2023 at New Life Fountain of Blessings Church in Jackson. His spiritual journey reflected his deep-rooted values of kindness and devotion.

Larry's educational pursuit led him through the corridors of the Jackson Public School District attending elementary, middle, and high school. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to excellence helped him graduate. Larry dedicated himself wholeheartedly to shaping the young minds of his nieces, nephews, and later his children—La'Mya Tyler and Lawrence Tyler Jr. He recently embarked on a new chapter at the City of Jackson, Waste Management. His infectious spirit radiated joy, and his love for rap music and being the life to the party illuminated at every gathering through his warm smile and kind attitude. Even through life's ups and downs, Larry's remarkable generosity never waned. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and chatting with friends and family. He was laidback, protector for those he loved, passionate, and loved deeply from his heart—whatever and however he was there for those he loved. Larry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Hill and his sister, Lilliana "Sapphire" Tyler, and uncles, Guzell Hill, Elporte Congeno Chess, Ernest Russell, and Pharis Cain.

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Larry peacefully transitioned from his earthly struggles. His legacy lives on through the enduring love he shared with adoring parents, Larosa Tyler, Larry Cavitt, and Edward Ricks; his cherished children, La'Mya Tyler and Lawrence Tyler Jr (Cassandra Brown). Larry is also survived by his sister, Aylisa "Shay" Tyler; his aunt, Pamela Cain (Jackson, MS); his uncles, Carvis Pope (Denver, Colorado), Robert Hill (CITY, Florida), Greg Hill (Jackson, MS), and Schan Pope (Atlanta, GA); his nephews, Kemarion Tyler, Jacobe Tyler, Montrell Tyler all of Jackson, MS, and Cameron Bennett (Texas); and nieces, Antinesha Holden and Lilliana McNeil both of Jackson, MS; very close friends, Courtney Brooks and Felicia Jenkins both of Jackson, MS; along with a host of great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and close friends that held a special place in his life.
