Lessie B.
Moore
Aug 29, 1939 — Dec 22, 2024
Mrs. Lessie B. Moore
Lovely
Lady Lessie B. Moore
was born on August 29, 1939. By God's grace and mercy and her faithfulness she was blessed with eighty-five (85) years of life surpassing the threescore and ten (Psalm 90:10) by fifteen (15) more years. She was blessed to be surrounded by people who loved and adored her. She provided words of wisdom and stressed the need to treat people the way you wanted to be treated. No matter what she
might be going through she remained true to her faith in God knowing he would bring her through.
Lessie was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Roosevelt Moore, Sr.; her oldest child/son Mr. Lamar Moore; and her parents, Mr. Charlie Knott, Jr. and Mrs. Josie Lee Knott.
Lessie was united in marriage to Mr. Roosevelt Moore, Sr. on March 5, 1960. To that union seven children were born: Lamar Moore (deceased), Denise Moore-Bernard, Yolanda Moore, Angerla Moore-Tyler (James, deceased), Christine Moore, Nola Moore (Tracy) and Roosevelt Moore, Jr. She was grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren: Felicia, Cristian, A'Drese, Ja'Cree, Ja'Kara, Davis and Jamison, two great grandchildren Sierra and Summer.
Lessie leaves to cherish her memory: her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Mr. Lawrence Knot; a very special niece, Patricia Dixon, who was considered to be a sister or daughter depending on the situation; two aunts who she cherished dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lessie lived her life to the fullest and she always knew she would be going home to be with God. She made sure she was ready to go when the time came. The last song she sang was "If The Lord Don't Help Me, I Can't Stand The Storm." She made it through the storm and is resting with the Lord. Her prayer was that we (her children) get close and stay together as a family as she knew she would not be here always.
