Miss Flagg was a loving, dedicated Christian and caring person who loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. She did not marry or have children, but all the children she taught, helped raised, or came into contact with became her children. She was affectionately known as "Auntie". She departed this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at home with her niece, Zolda.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Horace and Sadie Flagg; brothers, Rosco Funches, Eddie Richards and George Flaggs, Sr.; two sisters, Burdette Flagg Tillman and Christina Flagg Millings; niece, Clara A. Tillman; nephews, Larry Tillman, George A. Tillman, Odell Tillman, Horace Tillman, Jr. and Cardell Tillman; special cousins, Clara Jean Childers, Monica Marshall Burns, A.M.E. Logan and Jeanette Clark; and special adopted son, Clarence Earl Clark, and one adopted god-daughter, Lillian "Candy" Etta Caston. Miss Flagg leaves to cherish her memories: nephews, Horace Tillman (Delores), Edwards, Mississippi, Mayor George Flaggs (Valencia), Vicksburg, Mississippi, Martin Burks, Sr. (Jessie), Bronx, New York, Perry Tillman, Leesburg, Virginia, Rayford Tillman, Edwards, Mississippi, Derrell Tillman (Kim), Edwards, Mississippi, whom she helped raised and is much like a "son"; nieces, Betty Flaggs Neal, Vicksburg, Mississippi, Brenda Flaggs, Zolda Tillman Brown, Edwards, Mississippi who loved her very much and was dedicated to her; nieces-in-law, Gladys Marie Tillman, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Marchell Tillman of San Antonio, Texas; adopted god-daughter, Emma Caston; Victoria Willson who is very much like daughter to her; adopted grandchildren, Mayor LeKentric, LaQunndra, Domonika and LaShundra; a very special cousin; James Flagg, Sr., Utica, Mississippi; special friends and cousins, Betty Shaw, Los Angeles, California, Roberta Taylor, Edwards, Mississippi; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including the Willis, Williams, Irving, Price, Caston, Mixon, Palmer and Rozell Families.
