Mrs. Lois Owens

Lois was born on October 2, 1939, in the Utica community of Hinds County. She spent her early years educated in the Hinds Agricultural High School. Her hobbies were gardening and sitting on the porch in her beloved area of Bar Ridge. She was baptized at Bar Ridge Baptist Church at an early age.

Lois met and married Samuel (Peter) Owens of Raymond, Mississippi where her family grew to include six children: her first born and only son Michael Corinthian Owens and five daughters: Thelma Owens of Raymond, MS, Cassandra (Ray) Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Addie (Mack) Patterson of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Felecia (James) Broadwater of Pearl, Mississippi, Shawonda (Lamarcus) Owens-Shepherd of Raymond, Mississippi.

Lois was a devoted mother, and she devoted over 30 years to Hinds General Hospital in environmental services. She is preceded in death by her sisters and brother, husband and son. She has 5 generations of family with a host of nieces and nephews.
