Ms. Palmer will be laid to rest Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Mark Baptist Church,Edward, MS.Her services will begin at 11:00 a.m.Committal will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Edward, MS.Visitation will befrom 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 19, 2015.

A time to celebrate and remember the life of a beautiful, gentle, caring and loving sister, aunt, friend and Christian. We come to celebrate the Home going of Sister Mary Lee Palmer, affectionately called "Mattie."

A Time to Be Born
Mary Lee was born October 3, 1953 to the late Millie T. Palmer and Square Palmer of Edwards, Mississippi.

A Time to Service
Mary Lee confessed Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi, under the leadership of Reverend Lloyd Carter, where she was a member of the choir.She later moved her membership to Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend P. J. Hopkins.Mary Lee served faithfully as an usher until her health failed.

A Time for Wisdom
Mary Lee was a loving, giving, caring Christian who had a beautiful smile, never met a stranger, and welcomed everyone into her home with warmth and a spirit of friendship and love.She had a gentle spirit and to know Mary was to love her.She was loved and admired by all her knew her.

Education and Employment
Mary Lee received her early education at Edwards Junior High School.She graduated in 1973 from Hings Agricultural High School, Utica, Mississippi.In 1976, she received her Associate of Arts Degree in Biology from Utica, Mississippi.She lacked three hours from completing her B.S. Degree in Biology from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi.She was employed as a manager of the pet department "Famous Barr" in St. Louis Missouri.She also worked in the private home of Mr. Murphy Davis in Edwards, Mississippi until her health failed.

A Time for Love
While Mary never had any children of her own, she was a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.

A Time to Rest
On June 12, 2015, in Edwards, Mississippi at her home, Mary Lee transitioned to her Heavenly Home to take her rest.

Time to Mourn
Mary Lee leaves to cherish her memories:six brothers, Square Palmer, Jr. (Belinda) of Bolton, Mississippi, Horice Palmer (Ledora) and Abbie K., Johnson (Leslie) of Edwards, Mississippi, John E. Palmer of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Joe N. Palmer (Fern) and P.J. Palmer (Daphane) of Elkhart, Indiana; two sisters, Betty A. Ramsey of Chicago, Illinois and Mille Palmer White of Longview, Texas; a host of nephews and nieces, family, friends and a special friend of the family, Clotee Jackson Lewis.

She is preceded in death by her parents Millie T. Palmer and Square Palmer, Sr.; and one brother, Ivory Blue.
