Mrs. Matrion Johnson, funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Willis and Sons Funeral Home Jackson MS at 1:00 p.m.Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Willis and Sons Funeral Home 5235 Robinson Road Ext., Jackson MS. Interment: Fremont Church Cemetery, Carpenter, MS.

Matrion Montgomery Johnson was born on June 29 1927 to Nelson and Viola Montgomery. She departed from this world on June 25, 2018 while at home surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Luther Johnson; two sons, Mr. Floyd Johnson and Mr. Nelson Lenson; two daughters, Gloria Johnson and Nellie Nolan and one brother, Nelson Montgomery.

Matrion gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Freemount African Methodist Episcopal Church in Carpenter, Mississippi. Matrion devoted her life to helping others, especially her family. She served as a caregiver to three generation of family throughout her life. She was a blessing to her church, family and community.

Matrion leaves to cherish her sweet memories: two daughters, Dianne West of Utica, Mississippi and Matri Griffin of Clinton, Mississippi; four sons, Larry Johnson of Utica, Mississippi, John Willie Johnson (Rose) of Jackson, Mississippi, Moses (Joann) Givemore of Raymond, Mississippi and Willie (Helen) Johnson of Utica, Mississippi; seven sisters, Martha Montgomery, Lillie White, Viola Watts, Lillian Davis, Maxine Montgomery, Rosie Montgomery and Maggie Montgomery; five brothers, Arthur Montgomery, Troy Montgomery, Jessie Montgomery, Durant Montgomery and Armstrong Montgomery, all of Carpenter, Mississippi; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildern, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
