Pastor Willie Ervin Forbes was born on October 26, 1959, in Madison County, Mississippi, to the late Annie Pearl (Eddie, Sr.) Fisher, and was the oldest of eight children. He was later raised by the late Lee Daniel and Sarah Bully Forbes, Sr. Willie attended Madison County School, graduating in 1977. He enlisted in the Marines and was honorably discharged in September 1981. Willie later attended Jackson State University. He attended Reformed Theological Seminary. Willie soon after entered the workforce and worked at Pizza Hut and in December 2022, retired from Waste Management after 32 years.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. He later was called into ministry and pastured Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, where he served until his health failed. March 6, 1999, Willie married the love of his life, Delois Jean Hubbard. They were married for over 25 years. Willie enjoyed watching westerns, football, and super heros (Superman, Batman, etc.) on TV. He was not afraid of hard work, loved being in the presence of other believers, attending church and praising God.
Willie
was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; mother-in-law, Dora McPhearson; sister- in-law, Mildred; and brothers-in-law, Tommie, John, George, Donald Ray and Henry. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving and devoted wife, Delois; children, Nekeia (Ike) Dixon of Madison, Mississippi, Jermaine Gray and Zeni Hubbard, both of Jackson, Mississippi; two sisters, Earlene Fisher and Ester Fisher, both of Jackson, Mississippi; five brothers, Edward (Bertha) Fisher, Eddie, Jr. (Sharon) Fisher, Elijah (Alisa) Fisher and Eric Fisher, all of Jackson, Mississippi and Edmond (Stacey) Fisher of Orlando, Florida; sisters-in-law, Mary Sayers of Lansing, Illinois, Earlene Holloway of Pearl, Mississippi, Patricia (John) Hubbard of Madison, Mississippi, Mary (Henry) Flemming of Sallis, Mississippi, Carolyn (Reginald) Wheatley of Houston, Texas, and Doris (Donald Ray) Hubbard of Ridgeland, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Rickey Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; aunts,
Sarah McNeal of Jackson, Mississippi and Luretha Luckey of Miami, Florida; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
