Possie
Farmer
Jul 3, 1944 — Sep 25, 2022
On the evening of September 25, 2022, with the presence of her loving family, Possie's name was called to eternal rest. She was a humble and faithful servant. Possie had finished her journey here on earth and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Possie was the third oldest of four children, born on July 3, 1944 to Mr. Charlie T. Jones and Mrs. Aurelia M. Jones. She confessed Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. Possie later graduated from Hinds County Agricultural School in Utica, Mississippi. She later relocated to New York City where she worked temporary jobs to establish adequate references. She landed a job with Drew Chemical Corporation and worked there for many years until they relocated to Greece.
In April 1973, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Cleveland Farmer. To this union, two children were born, Erica Wilson which preceded her in death and Veronica Farmer Galloway. In 1974, she relocated back home where she worked for Trustmark Bank for many years. She
accepted a job with BancorpSouth in the Trust Department as a Trust Tech. She worked there many years until 2010 when she retired.
Possie was loved by everyone who knows her, family and friends. She was known as the family cook. She could make any dish and they tasted so good. Possie will truly be missed by us all. Possie was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. Charlie T. Jones and Mrs. Aurelia M. Jones;
and one brother, Willie J. Jones; and one granddaughter, Neveah Farmer. She leaves behind many loved ones, all who celebrate with this glorious transition, this wondrous opportunity to be with the Lord. The celebrates include: her devoted husband, Mr. Cleveland Farmer; one daughter, Mrs. Veronica F. Galloway (Jermaine); grandchildren, Journee Galloway, Aurelia Ashante Wilson, and Frederick Wilson; four sisters, Ms. Shirley Williams,
Mrs. Roberta Corley, Mrs. Jackie Ann Steward (Donnell), Mrs. Sharon H. Blackmon (Alvin) of Dallas Texas; and one brother, Mr. George Willis Hunter; two nephews, Mr. Shannon M. Jones (Angela), and Mr. Austin Wade Brown; two nieces, Mrs. Debra Brown and Augusta Bilbro
(Cassius); special Sister-in-law, Mattie Ross (Emanual); family friend, Kimberly; and a host of relatives and other friends.
