Ms. Sadie Mae Brent
April 20, 1937- February 24, 2024

Ms. Sadie Mae Brent was born April 20, 1937, in Madison County, Mississippi to Jimmy Taylor and Annie Johnson. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Cammie Taylor. She was the oldest of nine siblings. At an early age, she joined St. James Baptist Church in Canton, Mississippi and later joined New Galilean Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, especially at her favorite store - Walmart, and spending time with family and friends.

Sadie was married to the late Henry Lee Brent, Sr., and to this union eight children were born. Sadie Mae Brent was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Cammie Taylor; four children, Jimmy, Derike, Henry, and Sadie Pearl; two sisters, Ester Smith and Dorothy Lowe; three brothers, Ricardo Lofton, Charles Ross, and Jerry Ross.

Sadie leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, Barbara Hughes, Lester (Bernice), Charles (Ruby), and Stanley (Tasha); two sisters, Renee' Preston and Barbara Jean Nelson; a brother, Willie B. Taylor; daughter in law, Bernice Bradley Brent; sisters in law, Jean Taylor, Velma Johnson, and Camille Weatherspoon; a special friend, Mr. John Pope; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
