Shahara was born on July 17, 1993 and she was special even back then. For the first year of her life she didn't cry a lot and she was a happy baby!On August 4, 1994, I found out that the cry my baby did have wasn't normal !!She had to go to an ENT Specialist. It was discovered that her airway was blocked and she needed to have surgery ASAP!!!Thus her cycle with doctors sticking her, cutting on her and running test began!!!

On February 19, 1996, she had to have an emergency tracheotomy. After she go her trach, things changed for her.She wasn't supposed to do a lot of the things that I allowed her to do because I didn't want her to be labeled as another, "POOR HANDICAP BLACK CHILD" when people saw her; including the doctors!!Not My Child!!! Don't get me wrong, we got those looks when they saw her and some would stare and point. When she was little I let her go outside and play. She got dirty; she played in the sand box in Shady Lane Apartments even after I told her that she could get it in her trach. She did whatever my friends' children were doing outside.I had to make her come in the house. She used to be ashamed of her trach. But she even turned that around! She was tough as nails and her uncle made sure of that !!!Without him showing her how to be tough like some of the little boys around her, she probably wouldn't have been that fighter for life that she was!!Thanks Uncle Nana, as she would say!!

She may not have attended church the way she would have liked, but she knew Jesus. It's hard to go through her fight of having illnesses and not have a personal relationship with Jesus.

On December 18, 216 her flight landed on earth and began in glory. But her story will live on in others for years to come.We will forever cherish the memories.

She will be missed by her family and friends. Her mother, Marilyn Brown; her father, Lee Green, Jr. (Kelli); her son, Ashnton Alexander Brown;sisters, Shutoria Brown and Shechika Hughes; special nephews and a special niece, Jalen and Jashon Jones.Kason Hughes, and Skylar Billups;brothers, Lee Green, III and Le'Austin Green; step sister, Tatiyana Pleasant; a special aunt and uncle, Cassandra Ollie and Ferdinand Brown; Ashton 's father, Julius Smith; special friends, Tarra Thomas and Joia Aldridge.
