Mrs. Sordia Carr-Floyd

October 20,1961- September 29, 2023

Mrs. Sordia Navajo Carr Floyd was born to her loving parents, the late Robert and Alberta H. Carr, on October 20, 1961.  Sordia who was a life-long resident of Clinton, MS, she departed this life to be in the presence of the Lord on September 29, 2023, at the age of seventy-one.  Sordia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior as a child and was baptized at St. Mark Church, where she was a life-long member.  knowing the importance of earning a education, Sordia graduated from Clinton High School in 1979 where she played the trombone in the band.  Sordia then furthered her education at Mississippi College, where she severed as a flag girl and Hinds Community College, where she earned her licensed practical nursing (LPN) degree.  Sordia who was innately blessed with a caring spirit, went on to serve as an LPN for over 50 years at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center until her retirement.

Sordia was blessed with a lovely soprano voice, she was a member of various choirs at St. Mark.  She led various songs that lifted the Lord in praise.  In addition to her participation in the choir.  Sordia severed in various capacities within the church, such as Sunday school, church secretary and pianist as a youth.

Sordia was a loving wife to her husband, Mr. Jerry Floyd, whom she united in holy matrimony on February 28, 1981, and within this blessed union they reared a beautiful family.  Sordia, who had a passion for spending time with her family, also loved anything shiny as she was a "girly girl", singing, playing family games, Lifetime movies, sharing fun trivia facts with others and all music: by her favorite artist Prince.

Sordia was preceded in death by granddaughter, Alyssa M. Floyd, and son, Cameron A. Floyd.

The memory of Sordia will be forever cherished by her survivors, some of whom included: her husband of 42 years, Jerry Floyd: children, Dwana L. Floyd, Trenton J. Floyd, Adam Z. Floyd, Candance A. Floyd, LaTonjia Bridgeman Berry (Marcel) and Keisha Price (Joe): grandchildren, Madison M. Thompson, Edward L. Thompson IV, Kasey C. Floyd Bailey A. Floyd, Raighan L. Floyd, Morgan Bridgeman, Mya Bridgeman, Victoria Davis, Monyae Davis, Marquis Davis, and Donald Davis. siblings, Ophelia Kelly, Lois Robinson (Joe), Albert Carr (Mary), Rufus Carr (Loretta), Jeffery Carr (Lillian), and Rosemary Brown: an aunt: Annie H. Gale: as well as a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and other loved ones who will forever cherish her kind, patient, and loving spirit that will forever be cherished in their hearts.
