Mr. Tommie "Mudcat, Murley" Burks, Jr.

Tommie was born in Hinds County, Mississippi to Tommie Sr. and Viola Burks. Tommie attended Hinds County Public Schools.

Tommie was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, William (Bill) Burks, and Donald Ray Burks; sisters Willie Bell Johnson, Maggie Ruth Burks, Lottie Bell Williams, and Dorothy Jean Burks.  He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Yalonda Mosley Atkinson; son-in-law, Antwon Atkinson; grandsons, Derrius and Antwon Atkinson, Jr.; three sisters, Bertie Mae Burks, Almeta Burks and Patricia Ann Burks; one brother, Micheal Lee Burks; several good friends, just to mention a few, Earl Lee Carroll, James Allen, Oscar Thompson, Curtis Malone Armstrong and Jimmy Dale Dotson, along with a host of other family and friends including the Mosley Family.
