Virdelle Thompson was born on March 20, 1958, to the late Augusta and Lousie Thompson. She took her rest on Thursday, january 12, 2023 at ST. Dominic Hospital. Virdelle graduated from Summer Hill High School in 1976. Virdelle accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Sand Hill Church under the leadership of Rev. John McClendon. She later became a member of Society Ridge MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert Patton, where she was an active member. She served in many roles during her time in the church.  She was a very loving person, with a big heart. She never met a stranger. She spent her life as a missionary visiting the sick, sending cards to her loved ones, and providing care packages to everyone.

Virdelle was preceded in death by her parents Augusta and Louise Thompson, two brothers: David Thompson and Telmon Thompson, one sister: Judy Thompson, son Cornelius Thomspon.  Virdelle leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters: Chandra ( Nathaniel) Newsome of Spring Hill, TN and Bridgett ( Dominico) Collins of Brandon, MS and son Christopher Williams of Jackson, MS and a bonus son Shawn (Sue) Johnson; 6 grandchildren: Kyla Newsome, Dominico Collins Jr. , Briella Collins, Coraisha McGee, Chris Drone and Cornelius Drone; her sibilings; Lillian Henderson, and Ann (Gregory) Wnter both of Madison, MS; L.E. Younger, and Dopher Thompson all of Jackson, MS; Louise Almo of Baton Rouge, L. A.  A host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
