Willie Carl Caston also known as "Noon" to his family and childhood friends was born on August 17, 1964, at home in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the fourth out of five children born to Emma Caston and the late Charles Smith. Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Kingsley Chapel United Methodist Church. He attended Hinds County Agricultural School in Utica, Mississippi where he graduated in 1982.
Willie worked for McCarty Foods/Tyson, Bannum Place of Jackson, and Mississippi Department of Human Services for twenty – four years where he
was anticipating retirement in 2023. Willie's love for basketball allowed him to start the first AAU basketball team for the Town of
Edwards in 1995 with the assistance of Darlene Tyler Nelson and Tommy Nelson. He was a big fan of the Alcorn Braves and Chicago Bulls. On June 24, 1995, Willie married the love of his life, Connette Moore and together they raised three wonderful children: Cordell, Jerrichos, and Kenisha. On Sunday morning, July 24, 2022 Willie Carl Caston was called to his forever home. Willie was preceded in death by: his father, Charles Smith; two sisters, Lillian Caston and Thomasene Caston; his only daughter, Kenisha Caston; and sister in love, Patricia Bankston. Willie will truly be missed. He leaves behind: his loving wife, Connette Caston; nurturing mother, Emma Smith; two sons, Cordell Caston and Jerrichos Moore; two brothers, Charles Caston and Emmett (Carolyn) Caston; six grandchildren, Kyra Jamison, GeKylenn Mosley, Kaylenn Mosley, Cordell Caston, Jr., Glenn Mosley, Jr., and Makynlee Ware; seven nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
